Alyssa Edwards‘s lengthy career as a drag performer has left her with a unique perspective on makeup and beauty. “I love the power of makeup,” she told POPSUGAR. “Makeup is fun. It’s art, and art is subjective — so be creative! Make lots of mistakes, because it’s going to wash off, and you can wipe it away and restart.”
Speaking of restarting, the RuPaul’s Drag Race alum geared up for her recent one-woman show, Alyssa, Memoirs of a Queen, in London by partnering with Degree for the brand’s “Move Again” campaign, which celebrates movement in all forms as more cities around the country begin to lift their COVID-19-focused restrictions. Edwards herself recently started wearing deodorant again after spending a chunk of lockdown skipping it, but this, of course, isn’t the only beauty product that’s become a staple in her beauty bag over the years.
Ahead, Edwards spoke to us about her favorite sweat-proof beauty products, and the one drag queen she’d definitely swap makeup bags with.
