Boy Scouts return to pick up food on Saturday | Local News

The Greater St. Louis Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America will hold its 36th annual Scouting for Food drive this Saturday, Nov. 20.

Scouts dropped off blue bags to homes on Nov. 13 and will return on Saturday to collect the bags filled with donations of canned goods and other nonperishable food.

The food will be distributed to local food pantries.

Donations of canned fruit and vegetables, tuna, chicken, pasta sauce and soup, as well as meals-in-a-box, like Hamburger Helper, are most needed.

Residents who did not receive a bag may take canned food donations to any Raising Cane’s or Lion’s Choice restaurant in the St. Louis region.

Raising Cane’s has a location at 1163 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold, and Lion’s Choice has locations at 943 Jeffco Blvd. in Arnold, at 698 Gravois Bluffs Ave. in Fenton and at 1737 W. Fifth St. in Eureka.

Cash donations to local pantries may be made by texting “ScoutFood” to 91999.
