Dia de Los Muertos, chili cook-off and more

The Annunciation Parish Knights of Columbus will host their 2nd Annual Great Fire & Ice Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, Nov. 6 beginning at 6 p.m. at the Christ the King school cafeteria. Teams will compete for $700 in prize money and there will be chili for the public to sample. In addition to chili, the $10 admission (children 10 and under free) includes hot dogs, chips, soft drinks and a door prize ticket. Adult beverages will be available for purchase and there will be a silent auction and half pot. All proceeds benefit the K of C Backpacks for Kids program and other charitable causes. The Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library West Branch will celebrate Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) on Saturday, Nov. 6, from 2-6 p.m. Join in for music, dancing, crafts, ofrenda displays and food.

Smoked mett sausage with German sides and fresh-fried cornbread at the Gerst Haus.

The Gerst Haus will host its Sausage Fest 2021 from Tuesday, Nov. 2 until Sunday, November 7, from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. Watch for sausage and beer specials, giveaways and more at Evansville’s favorite German restaurant.
