More birria is a good thing. The food truck Las Tapias Birria now has a brick-and-mortar location on the city’s West Side. The Mexican restaurant is holding its soft opening this week at 5471 Norton Center. Offerings include birria tacos, quesadillas, beer, cocktails and more. Las Tapias joins two other Mexican restaurants that have opened on the West Side in the past year, including Taco Nice and Tacos Don Deme.
Chef Jamie George’s new fine-dining restaurant, ’Plas Food and Drink, is now open for business in the Short North at 21 E. Fifth Ave., formerly The Table. George is a veteran Columbus chef who was most recently executive chef at Z Cucina in Grandview. The Italian-leaning menu includes a vegan charcuterie board, short rib tagliata, roasted clams bucatini and more.
Avishar Barua, Service Bar’s executive chef (and recent “Top Chef” star), is partnering with the virtual kitchen ClusterTruck on a series of dishes available for delivery exclusively to Dublin customers. Menu items include Sesame Broccoli Salad with Bacon, Sichuan Hot Chicken Sandwich and Pimento Cheese with Veggie Poofs. The one-of-a-kind dishes can be ordered for delivery or pickup from ClusterTruck’s new kitchen within the Dublin Kroger on Sawmill Road. Check out the menu here.
Dublin’s Coast Wine House (75 S. High St.) has launched a new “pop-up” called Osteria, inspired by a summertime Italian holiday. For the next few months, Coast will exclusively feature Italian wines, Italian-style cocktails (think: amari and spritzes) and Italian-inspired eats. In addition, the wine shop is offering a “family table” for alfresco dining on the lawn for parties up to 10.
