Las Tapias Birria opens on West Side

More birria is a good thing. The food truck Las Tapias Birria now has a brick-and-mortar location on the city’s West Side. The Mexican restaurant is holding its soft opening this week at 5471 Norton Center. Offerings include birria tacos, quesadillas, beer, cocktails and more. Las Tapias joins two other Mexican restaurants that have opened on the West Side in the past year, including Taco Nice and Tacos Don Deme

Chef Jamie George’s new fine-dining restaurant, ’Plas Food and Drink, is now open for business in the Short North at 21 E. Fifth Ave., formerly The Table. George is a veteran Columbus chef who was most recently executive chef at Z Cucina in Grandview. The Italian-leaning menu includes a vegan charcuterie board, short rib tagliata, roasted clams bucatini and more.
